40% Discount on Rail Travel in Spain

For individuals aged 60 and over, the Tarjeta Dorada card offers a 40% discount on both one-way and return train tickets. To access this benefit, one must sign up for the card and use it when purchasing tickets.

This card, which is named and non-transferable, costs €6 and can be purchased at train station ticket offices or through travel agencies. It is valid for one year, with an option to renew it online.

The 40% discount applies every day of the week.

The card is also available to people over 18 who receive a pension, have a permanent, total, or severe physical or mental disability, or have a disability level of 33% or more. Those with a disability level of 65% or higher are eligible to travel with a companion who will receive the same discount.

This card is usually not valid for local or regional travel. There are however other local discounts available.
